"It was an amazing trip, I met many interesting people, especially Sven Swinnen, who have shown me a total different perspective on coaching. After 3 years in Taiwan Premier League, the BLUES has been relegated to... nothing, as there is still no second division in Taiwan.
The Blues started their relegation campaign very well, with a win over the first team in the table but failed to follow up and after losing their two next games, failing to reach one of the two promotion spots for Premier League next season. However - the club will do everything possible to come back next year. Royal Blues won their first game in their Premier League qualification campaign! Against the strongest team around Li Mao and Li Xian Wei - both Taiwanese National Players - Blues went down in the 18th minute. With the last a kick of the game, in the 6th minute of extra time, Blues defender Tim Murphy headed a cross to an 1:1 equalizer.
It led to a penalty shootout, in which Royal Blues had better nerves and won the game 4:2 This means, with one more win out of 2 games the team could be qualified for another Premier League season. Royal Blues are starting a new U7 & U9 training in Neihu, near Miramar! Our firsst session there is free of charge, feel free to contact us and reserve your spot. Our ideology:
- Player development first! No team tactics, no instructions how to play - players need to develop their own decision-making. - Maximal time with ball. Player need to work on their ball control. - No long waiting time. We are trying to build our sessions in such a way, that we eliminate time when kids are standing around and doing nothing, waiting in the line for they turn. - Equal playing time to all players, as we are trying to develop ALL players. - Small training groups - maximal 12 players in one training group, to ensure quality of sessions. - Two different sticker systems with animated stickers for the younger kids and players stickers for the bigger kids, as an incentive for kids to work harder and teach players more details about the world of football and it’s famous players. A unlucky, goalless 0:0 in the first game, with missed penalty followed a hard fought 2:1 with a winning goal scored in the last minutes of the game - this were today’s result by our U10 team. “I am really happy about today’s results - so coach Robert - considering it was our debut in this league . However, as I am always saying, the results are not the most important thing in youth football. Kids had a lot of fun, gathered lots of experience and this is what counts!”
